The Psychosocial Factors of peasants and the Efficiency of development.

    The aim of this study was to investigate the psychosocial factors of peasant and the efficiency of development. The research objectives included are as follows.
1. to compare the education level and socioeconomic status of the peasants.
2. to compare the peasants behavior on the village development issue.
3. to compare the peasants facilitating attitude towards development.
4. to compare the peasants achievement motivation.
5. to compare the peasants instrumental values.

Research Procedure
1. Samples consisted of 18 leaders and 97 house-holders from achieved village, and 10 leaders and 69 house-holders from unachieved village.
2. Tools used in this study were questionnaires, achievement motivation test, attitude test and value survey instrument.
3. Percentage, Fisher Exact Probability Test, t-test, and Median Test were used to analyze the data

Research Findings
1. The presents of the achieved village and the unachieved village were in the same level of education, and social-economic status. However, the peasants of the achieved village had more outside village experiences.
2. The peasants of the achieved village had more economic and social group activities than those of the unachieved village.
3. There were no significant differences between the attitude towards development of two villages. However, they had negative attitude towards development in indulging in favoritism. Denying the law, and agreement with dignitaries unreason.
4. The peasants of two village had low achievement motivation. There were significant differences at level .05 between house-holders of the achieved village and those of the unachieved village.
5. There were significant differences between instrumental values of the achieved village leaders and unachieved village leaders. Significant difference appeared at level .05 in affection & tender value, imaginative and creative value between the house-holders of the village. However, these two values were not high level values which affect behavior. Moreover, it was found the most of peasants ranked moral values as the higher-impotent value.
It was found that the research hypothesis on the peasants behavior on the village development issue was supported by the research result, but the other hypothesis were not. Furthermore, the psycho-social factors of the peasants had lese effect on the efficiency of the development, and this research concluded that the factors which affect the efficiency of development might be (1) the leaders capacity (2) the officers attention to developmental work and (3) the participation of the peasants in developmental work.
