The Roles of Elementary Schools in Conservation of Environment

   Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out the roles or the activities of the administrators and the school teachers to encourage the reservation of the environment nearby the schools. The samples of the research were the administrators and the school teachers under the Muang District of Khon Kaen province. The questionnaires of environmental reservation were used as a tool to collect the data and the earned data were than analyzed by the basic statistics as needed.
Findings
1.The activity which was done every month by most of the school administrators was encouraging the school teachers and students to join the community activities to conserve the environment on special occasion while every semester, they had consultation with the school teachers for the issue of the environmental protection and every year they arranged the competition of giving proverbs to encourage the protection of the environment.
2.The activities of the school teachers for environmental reservation ;
2.1 Teaching activities in classroom, the outstanding activity among those in this group was having students to play role playing of protecting the environire
2.2 Setting the class-room for good environment; most of the school teachers preferred preparing the dust bins or the baskets in the class-rooms for garbages and litterings than any other activities.
2.3 Arrangement for good environment in the area of schools, they made their choices of preparing the particular places for burning or keeping the garbages in schools.
2.4 The activities of building up the attitude of protecting the environment for students ; the majority of teachers selected a good topic for students to discuss in class rooms like “The ideal environment for us” and coming to a conclusion
2.5 Making the co-operation with the community; to join the exhibition of environmental protection in some occasions was chosen as an outstanding activity by most of the school teachers while other activities were weighed less.
