A Development of A Training Program for Undergraduate Students with Art Activities to Develop Creative Thinking and Productive Skills

บทคัดย่อ ภาษาอังกฤษ

   The objectives of this research were to synthesis the characteristics of students with creative thinking and productive skills, and to develop a training program for students by using art activities to develop creative thinking and productive skills. The researcher designed the conceptual framework of the training program, and the prototype of the training program passed the quality examination by experts and was used with a purposively selected sample group of 30 third year students at Khon Kaen University in the academic year of 2007. The research methodology included 4 steps: firstly, studying the conceptual frame work of the training program; secondly, creating the training program; thirdly, experimenting and analyzing the results from using the training program and fourthly, improving the training program by means of conducting a focus group to collect comments and suggestions from the experts. The data were analyzed by using means, standard deviation and t-test. The results are shown as below:
1. The training program for undergraduate students with art activities to develop creative thinking and productive skills was composed of principle, objective, contents, learning and teaching activities, and evaluation which were considered in accordance with the characteristics of students with creative thinking and productive skills, and the approach to arrange the study by art activities to develop creative thinking and productive skills, using the IBCPA model (Imagine, Brainstorming, Creating, Presenting, and Assessing). The results of this research brought into the training program module were composed of 16 lesson plans, the teacher’s manual, the student’s manual, and evaluation forms.
2. After the training, the students in the experimental group gained means scores of creative thinking higher than before the training with the statistical significance level at 0.05.
3. After the training, the students in the experimental group gained means scores of creative thinking higher than the students in the control group with the statistical significance level at 0.05.
4. After the training, the students in the experimental group gained means scores of productive skills passing the set criteria of 70 percent.
