Using Group Process to Foster Co-operative Work of Participants

   Abstract
This study was conducted to foster co-operative work and to enhance unity among participants both before and during the participation in a project of “On collaboration of teachers and educational researchers to improve the teaching-learning activities on environmental education through the principles of action research”. The participants were 5 lecturers of Faculty of Education and 28 primary school teachers from 8 schools in Khon Kaen. Group process activities were used in this study. Participant observation, interviews, questionnaires, journal writings, photographs were employed for data collection. Formative and summative evaluations were used to investigate the effectiveness of the workshop. The results indicated that through group process workshop, the researchers and participants had acquired skills in problem-solving and collaborative work. In particular, the participants had developed self-esteem, self-respect, team building, and a sense of belonging. In addition, the participant indicated their satisfaction at a high level for activities used in a group process workshop ( =4.391, SD=0.0.408).
