A STUDY OF THE MODEL OF EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AT THE MONASTERY INSTITUTE IN THE NORTHEAST : A CASE STUDY MAHACHULALONGKORN RAJWITTAYALAI

   This research aimed to study t model of educational administration at Mahachulalongkorn Rajavdyalaya University in the Northeast. The goal of research was to investigate the following objectives: 1) to study the current status of the present educational administration and more specifically, its problems and needs. 2) to propose new model of educational administration and 3) to study the personnel under the Monastery Institute, as well as their ways of passing on knowledge of culture. The researcher studied the documents and collected two sets of data. The researcher also conducted a brainstorming session at a seminar in order to think of new model of educational administration. The first research population was comprised of administrators, vice presidents, assistants to the president and directors. In all, the research population comprised 22 people. The second set of data was comprised of five people : vice presidents and assistants to the president. A brainstorming session was organized by 35 lecturers and officers. The researcher used personal observation and check-list questionnaires. Data was analyzed by using the following statistical test : frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
Results
1) Mahachulalongkorn Rajavdyalaya University in the Northeast has an integrated educational administration that is supported by both a patronage and the government. However, it will become autonomous. In the administration, there exists problems and needs in four main areas : budgets, building, personnel and administration and work procedures.
2) The educational administration at Mahachulalongkorn Rajavdyalaya University is composed of three groups : 1) General administration (Regional office) 2) Supporting (Regional Academic Administration) and 3) Teaching and Learning Management (Monastery Institute)
3) It was determined that the role of the Monastery Institute personnel in the passing on at culture knowledge was important and was ranked as high in the three main areas : people’s living, society and Buddhism religion. But the role of politic and governing, economics was ranked at the less level.
