   Abstract: The aim of this research was to study the outcome of the training plan to foster classroom research skills for student teachers. This research was based on the idea of action research. The participants were 18 supervisors and 107 student teachers in the Secondary Education Department, Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, Thailand. The training process had the steps as the following: workshop on action plan, implement the action plan, collect the information along the process, the analysis information and write the roport using both qualitative and qauntitative forms.
The findings showed that most teachers thought that at first start, the student teachers did not have enough knowledge about research. They gradually gain the knowledge and skills after consulting their supervisors. Most supervisors were satisfied with the research outcome. They mentoned that the outcome of this group was better that the former groups. Most supervisors mentioned that the classroom research task interrupted the practical teaching process. But almost all of them agreed to continue the project because it useful for future student’s work. There was only one supervisor mentioned that he rather unsatisfied with the student’s task.
Most student mentioned that the knowledge giving while the research is going on help them gradually gain knowledge. Most students said that that they were satisfy with the outcome of their research tasks. They suggested that in providing knowledge supervisor should add more documents, increase time and support some budget.
The outcome of this study and provious studies confirmed that in solving the problem of students have not enough knowledge in doing research. The department has to open the classroom research course and let students learn before they go to practice their teaching at schools.
Nevertheless, this study showed that using action research process in traing classroom research skill enhance classroom research skill of student teachers at a level.
