The Development of Integrated Curriculm of Natural resources Conservation Using Khok Phu Taka as a learning Resources for Schools in Phu Wieng Areas

   Abstract
The objectives of this research are: 1) to develop the integrated instruction plans on natural resources conservation using Plant Genetics Conservation Project under The Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Khok Phutaka as a learning resources and 2) to study the opinion of participants toward the integrated instruction plans. The idea of students center learning, cross-curriculum teaching and action research were employed in designing the plans. The research conducted base on principle of action research: Planning, Acting, Observing and reflecting for improvement (Kemmis & McTaggart, 1992). First phase of this study was investigated basic in formations of the area, participants were 30 students who wrote the assays and 10 youth, 7 teachers and 10 local people in Khok Phutaka area who participated in focus group. Second phase was a field experiment of the integrated instruction plans, participants were 17 of year 4-6 elementary students and 6 teachers of Ban Bou school, Ban Mueng Khow school, Ban Hinrong school, 3 local people how expert in trees and herb medicine in Phuvieng area, 10 of master student in science education and the researcher from Khon Kean university. The instruments were the integrated instruction plans, the opinionaires, the focus group record form, tape recorder and camera. Qualitative information were analyzed by contain analysis and reported in narrative form. Quantitative data were analyzed by mean and standard deviation.
The results revealed that 1) In the pass, Khok Phutaka was very rich of natural resources. There were many valuable plants and animals but now a day almost everything was gone. Today, there are only small trees left. However the forest still provides some foods for the community .and all participants wanted to see the area as in the pass. 2) The development of the integrated instruction plans produced output as the following 2.1) The study guides of the trees in each zone for 4 zones (4 small books) and one of study guide that combined the trees in 4 zones (big books). 2.2) A schematic chart of cross-curriculum teaching of 8 stands in normal curriculum that used the tree in Khok Phutaka forest as a core of integration. 2.3) The integration instruction plans of 8 stands. 2.4) the results of field experiment of Science and Art education stands were as the following; (1) The participant students mentioned that the whole learning activity was in good level (Mean = 4.24) and (2) The participant teachers mentioned that the whole learning activity was in good level (Mean = 40.38). (3) The participant students like and enjoyed the activity.
